Week Four - Fantastic Fitness

Measurements and fitness test this week!

I have been dreading this time since last week when I spent time with friends and totally allowed myself everything.  The host is an incredible cook and as a lover of fine foods new that I would be incredibly tempted with what she had to offer.

Knowing this and knowing also that I only have this opportunity once every year (sometimes not even that often) I allowed myself to enjoy the time and enjoy the food.  Well, I certainly enjoyed the foods... I didnt over indulge too much, just ate the same as everyone else and had my senses completely blown away... yep, it was that good!  Oh ... and Pashmak is my new most favourite thing, lucky I cant buy it locally as I could eat it by the bagful.. So, back to where I began, I have been weighing daily and found that I had put weight back on ...... ouch! Which has meant that the rest of my week has been working out really hard to try to counteract the weight gain... I am at a status quo this morning and hoping that by tomorrow (weigh in day) I will be under... fingers crossed.

The measurements I have done this morning.... and... drum roll.... a great result!
Chest:    Lost 1cm
Waist:    Lost 7cm
Hips:      Lost 12cm
R.Thigh: Lost 4cm
L.Thigh: Lost 5cm
R.Arm:   Lost 0cm
L.Arm:   Up 1cm

Pretty good hey!!!  I will be doing my fitness test this morning, but I really wanted to get this blog up first as it was meant to be up yesterday... whoops!
I have seriously noticed the weight loss around my hips and bum... I am wearing jeans now which I havent for such a very very long time, my clothes are hanging nicely on me and all the clothes that I have been trying to squeeze into now suddenly seem like they fit properly.  In fact, I now am building up a pile of clothes that are too large, too baggy, fat clothes and they are all going regardless of how lovely they are, or how expensive they were, or how many memories are attached to them .... gone! How empowering to know that I am not going to ever wear them again.  Saw this picture below and realised it is now my life... everything has calories and it is my responsibility to myself to know what they are.

Yesterday, I jumped on the tready to have a practice trial for the fitness test and unbelievably I ran for the whole 1km (speed 8)... let me say it again.... I ran for a whole 1km...hang on....... I RAN FOR A WHOLE 1KM.....shocked, I cant believe it even when I say it.  I did it and I didnt have a heart attack, nor did I stop breathing or burst a lung... I actually did it.  Today I am looking forward to the challenge that I have now placed upon myself.. to run again... I did it once, so I know I can do it again.

Anyway since I am feeling so pumped and it is not all about me (not all the time anyway)... I want to give someone else a little gift to help with their exercise program.  I am doing mine solely from home, using DVD's and the tready/bike and it is working..... I have a copy of Michelle Bridges 3 DVD workout program that I want to give to someone who doesnt have it and would like to fit in some exercise at home.

If you would like it, please comment below and let me know and I will pop it in the post for you.

Well, I am up and off to do my fitness test, I hope you all have positive results with the measurements, weigh in and fitness test this week and am looking forward to seeing the results posted.

Remember; half the battle is your attitude... here are a couple of tips for staying positive!

  • Stop letting other peoples negativity affect your positivity (birds of a feather really do flock together.... find positive people and start connecting with them)
  • Make a list of all your positive and negative attitudes (identifying is the first step towards changing them)
  • Write strong, life-giving, positive affirmation statements and read them out loud
Enough from me...... keep smiling!
Karen
